Primarily works on the mechanical engineering aspects for one or more of the following: implantable pulse generators, hand-held externals, surgical tools, surgical accessories, radiofrequency ablation needles/electrodes, radiofrequency generators, and body-worn devices or accessories.Completes exploratory research, feasibility, standard development, sustaining engineering, and other activities under minimal supervision/guidance. Develops product specifications, designs, materials, and processes for projects of moderate complexity. Collects data and performs various forms of engineering analysis to make informed decisions or recommendations. Your responsibilities include:Collaborates within and across functional departments. Collaborates within and across project teams. Meets or exceeds goals and objectives. Activities typically include the following: medical product research and development, sustaining engineering, engineering analysis (force/stress/strain analysis, tolerance analysis, materials analysis, process capability analysis, industry standards analysis, etc.), animal studies, preclinical studies, clinical studies, and documentation (engineering drawings, engineering characterization reports, assembly procedures, flowcharts, test plans, test reports, etc.).Prepares design concepts and conducts engineering design reviews.Works independently to plan and schedule activities necessary to meet timelines.Designs and coordinates execution of engineering experiments and formal verification tests.Designs, procures, and fabricates tooling and fixtures.Performs troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process.Analyzes, summarizes, and draws conclusions from test results.Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to technical community.Responsible for engineering documentation.Invents/ creates concepts and designs for new products/processes, and submits invention disclosures.May train and/or provide work direction to engineering support personnel, interns, co-ops, consultants, etc.Works cooperatively with marketing, manufacturing, process development, quality, regulatory, and clinical to ensure project success.Demonstrates standard product development process and business processes/systems knowledge through delivery of high quality deliverables. What we??re looking for:QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent degree.5+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills.Good interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities.Ability to build strong working relationships.Medical Device or regulated industry preferred.Problem solving experience.SolidWorks design experience.
